Hello, I really wanted a way to provide some feedback so I hope this is a good way start. Being a new patient for about 2 months I wanted to provide some compliments and maybe a few suggestions for consideration. Pros: 1. I really like the multi modality treatment approach and am able to see the benefits as I continue my care. 2. It great that the team seems like a family and that it's easy to see there is mutual respect of the team (DCs to support staff. 3. Sara made me feel like I had been a patient for years by my second visit just by taking the time to know my name. She is warm and delightful. 4. All the chiropractors have been great 5. Tanya my massage therapist is funny and gives a great deep tissue/medical massage 6. Reception staff is great overall Cons: 1. The wait times are really too long. Generally most visits I'm the office any least one hour, of which 20-30 minutes is waiting. If you calculate that an adjustment is usually 5-10 minutes, power plates 5-10 minutes with 8 or so positions, traction for me just moved up to 15 minutes. So 30 minutes procedural most visit. Graston is quick but usually need to wait for someone to be free. 2. Traction techs usually hanging out in the office and don't really provide much insight to you to ensure your positioned correctly. Don't remember to start timers. Don't really engage with the patient to make it more understable or comfortable. 3. I feel that my treatment plan is generalized which is ok but I haven't know when to expect traction, why this particular traction is right for me, when I should start power plates, when I should start Graston and why I didn't start on my first adjustment like it was indicated on my card, etc. I don't feel like I get to engage in the plan but a little hap hazardly add on modalities. I think visits 1-25 on my card might trigger the reminders to the DCs. Personally I'd like more engagement and a plan so I can help guide my outcomes and being achieving my goals as quickly as possible. 4. Given the number of staff and the frequent rotation of people it's really difficult to keep track of names. Generally you might hear someone's name once but there so much going on for a patient it's hard to keep tract of everything. It would be really great if staff pictures with names were somewhere in the treatment area instead of the front door. 5. It's obvious that the end of day is significantly overbooked based on wait times and the number of people sitting in chairs when you walk in and get your letter. Suggestions: 1. Expand the tasks of some of your more talented staff like train a non chiropractor to perform X-rays. There used to be s great local X-ray course taught by Dr. Vlasik, DC. I've attended it and trained a full staff of 8-10 medical assistants on X-ray techniques. The X-rays were checked by the MD in real time to assess completeness. I think it would be rewarding for the team and help take a few tasks off the chiropractors plates. 2. Consider having some monitor patient flow at peak times and help reduce dead time for patients waiting and move the chiropractors along. I do really appreciate the care I receive and feel it's a great practice. Kind Regards, Melissa

Hi, I want to share my story so that others may be inspired to get the most from their chiropractic care. About two years ago on my way to work, I was rear ended on I-5. My car was totaled, but being young, spry, and without acute pain, I casually asserted, “I’m fine” at every opportunity. I was completely unaware of the damage done to my neck and the insidiousness of whiplash. Gradually over the course of months, I began suffering from headaches at work. By that time, sitting for any reason reliably caused diffuse, mild, yet unignorable head pain. However, the headaches’ connection to the accident was not yet clear because it seemed impossible that one accident months prior could cause recurring headaches, which themselves could easily be misattributed to work stress. When I discussed the headaches with my primary care doctor, he prescribed a 14-movement exercise routine that gave some relief, and so I stuck to it for many months. My neck strength improved and thus increased my ability to sit or stand without pain, but the treatment never succeeded beyond this. The pain eventually made it difficult to sleep. That’s when I decided I needed a change and I came to Hanson Chiropractic. I would learn from my first X-ray that my neck had almost no curvature at rest. Without the structural soundness of that arch, I would hurt my neck doing activities I had practiced hundreds of times before. Similarly, without that arch, my neck muscles had to work much harder to keep my head upright, causing tension headaches from any stationary activity. Finally aware that I had a posture problem and not a strength problem, my question was: what does it take to correct a joint that has healed out of place and left for 2 years? So far, I am 10 weeks in to Dr. Hanson’s treatment plan and my neck rotation angle has improved from -2.8° to -25°, a miraculous improvement, though there is still progress to be made in the coming weeks to reach the nominal rotation of -42°. To be precise, that 22.2° of change took 30 adjustments, 6 hours of traction, 3 hours of Power Plate exercises, and most importantly, over 3000 repetitions of the prescribed postural neck exercise (keeping score is also part of the prescription.) That’s a lot to do, but miracles take dedication! We should remind ourselves and each other that treatment starts with a true desire to improve our condition. Now, to finally get some sleep… -Tobin

Julie shares her story
"My name is Julie and I'm writing this to share my story: In 2006 I was injured on the job, I went to the Doctors and was treated with medication for over 4 years and my Doctor finally told me that my injury would never get any better, only worse, and that I would end up in a wheelchair within a few years. Needless to say, my hopes for a happy future were kind of shot. I started going to Dr. Hanson, and there, I have hope for a bright future. They believe they can help me. With the positive attitudes they have and the help they have been giving me, I am feeling so much better. Even though I'm not completely healed, I am on my way to a much brighter future and I owe it all to Dr. Hanson and the wonderful team he has. Thank you with all my heart, Julie"

I was shocked
I came to Dr. Hanson for a free exam because my neck was bothering me and getting worse. My health was very good otherwise, so I was shocked at the x-ray showing the extreme wrong-way curve of the vertebrae in my neck! I signed up for “fix care”, coming in three times a week for an adjustment and traction. And ten weeks later, although I’m advanced in age and have had the condition for some time, I’m experiencing a dramatic reduction in pain (pain free most of the time!), and a much greater ability to move and turn my neck. So now I’m coming in once every two weeks for an adjustment, keeping up with home exercises and traction, and being more aware of maintaining good posture in everyday activities, especially stopping myself from positions that aggravate neck problems. I should have come in sooner! Many thanks to Dr. Hanson for his expert adjustments, traction, counsel, and encouragement, and most of all, for giving me back my neck.
